WWJD....??

Okay, the real question at hand is "What Would YOU Do???"

I need a little help here...

So my daughter comes home from school the other day and insists on me taking a picture of her so that she can give it to her "adult friend."  It's right about here I start feeling weird about the whole situation...and of course ask "Who is your adult friend???"  It's her friend-at-the-bus-stop's grandma, and Oakley said that they are good friends and that she thinks she is so cute that she wants to have a picture of her...

huh...

huh...??

It's a grandma of a fellow schoolmate....it's harmless right??  Right...??  Rrrrrrrright....

What the heck do I do...??

Should I give this "adult friend" a picture of my daughter??!!  What Would YOU Do??!!

Hmmmmm? I suppose everyone can use an extra "grandma" or two, but this doesn't seem like a good starting place for this friendship quite yet. It's likely a very good thing that the "adult friend" is helping out at the bus stop, as well . . . all sorts of danger lurks in those places, but I'm very certain I'd want to meet her personally and go for my own gut reaction before sharing a photo. By the way, it's an adorable photo, and she's an adorable child! Protect her all you can! Hope you're feelin' the love!

I would go to the bus stop. Feel things out. See what kind of vibe you get. If this lady had half a brain she would know that this would set off major alarms to a mother. I am always leaning on the better safe than sorry side. I have a very trusting heart, but when it comes to my kids.......there is no gray area. Oakley's safety is number one. You really never know these days.

I second the votes above. And, wow, she is SOOO cute. We love her- well, all your adorable kids really.

OH my gosh, I would say no way! Just because she is a grandma does not mean that she is a good person. Grandmas can be creepy, too. I say go with your gut. If you're feeling weird about the situation, don't do it!

I would meet this grandma character. that could be creepy or innocent. hard to say.

So she's known grandma for all of a week or two? Maybe grandma was just trying to be friendly. Have Oakley draw a picture of herself to give to her adult friend. That's the best way in my mind. Grandma could be working undercover for a pimpmeister for all we know....

If you feel even a little weird about it, you should not ignore that feeling! She does not need a picture.

That definitely seems weird. I agree with the previous comments. I would meet this lady and see what's going on.

It does seem a little weird. You'd think this grandma would understand that a mom might get a little freaked out about it. I'd definitely meet her.

Oh Tamra i know who she is talking about and she is a little weird. I was going to ask you if you guys know her. She has to give Oakley a hug everyday. The grandma lady takes her grandkids to the bus stop everyday. She just seems a little wierd to me. She is there everyday and for pick-ups too so you should come and see her. But i think she just talks to Oakley in the morning.

I have to agree with Andrea, I've always had a weird feeling when I see that lady, but I've never talked to her... If it were me I would follow Alana's advise and have Oakley draw a picture for her and then come down to the bus stop and introduce your self to her and see how you feel about it.

Yes, go meet this grandma. She may not be aware that she wants a photo... You know how children are. But, I would def check things out and hope she is a sweet old lady!

First I would walk down to the bus with her tomorrow. I realize what a pain this is with 3 littles who aren't catching the bus and might even be sleeping, but I think it is really important to have someone you trust there-- even if you and a few neighborhood moms you know take turns being the "bus stop" mom.... I don't know your neighborhood or where the busstop is, but if you can't see her from your front door I'd be walking with them. I am super duper Helicoptery though. ;) (the first step is admitting it right?)

Next, I would say no to the photo. I'd probably just drop it entirely. If she asks again I'd flat out say No. (You freaky weirdo what are you planning to do frame it???)

Last... Your dd is adorable and it brings up the point that her picture is right here on the www for any freak to find. I guess at some point we as parents have to say "I'm comfortable with ____ I'm not comfortable with ____". For me, my blog is plastered with my kids, and I'm ok with that. It is a very personal decision. Aren't we lucky we Parent with Prayer??? Can't imagine it any other way.

I wouldn't let her have a picture. Even if she's a nice old lady and not creepy, she doesn't need a picture of your little girl, even though she's adorable. Kind of a weird request...

Wish I'd have read this a few days ago. She's the lady I told you about a while back. The one we were saying in the car looks old and rough because she smokes so much and that's one of the reasons we can see that smoking can't be good for us. Then Oakley got out of my car and ran over to give her a hug. I was so scared she'd tell her what we'd said. Whew she didn't. She is a strange lady and invited my daughter to Hawaii once. I've always thought kids need to be careful around her. She's probably just friendly but I don't think she's...all there.
